New magazines on Politico
Last week we added three new titles to the magazine archive on Politico - Changing Ireland, LookLeft and Voice of the Traveller. This brings to six the number of titles on Politico - Nusight (1968 - 1970), Magill (1977 - 1998) and Village magazine (2004 - 2008) are also available.
Magazines are embedded in the site as PDFs (the appear as they did in print). The latest three are available free of charge while the older magazines require a subscription (click here).
Changing Ireland was founded in 2001 and is a publicly funded magazine produced in Moyross in Limerick. It does some good work on community development among other things.
LookLeft is a quarterly magazine founded in 2010. It's funded by certain trade unions and some of its content reflects this. It publishes good feature articles that are not union-driven. Sean Garland who is facing extradition to the US is one of the editors.
Voice of the Traveller is published from Athlone and deals primarily with news and strong photospreads from the Traveller community. Subscriptions can be taken to receive hard copies of the magazine.
Thanks to the respective publishers and editors for making these titles available to Politico. And thanks to the production staff for providing the PDFs. We intend to add more suitable magazines to this section of the site. Please email us here if you have suggestions.
A big thanks to Alison Spillane too who created and embedded the online versions of Changing Ireland and Voice of the Traveller.
