Michael O'Toole
Michael O'Toole is crime correspondent with the Irish Daily Star. Back in 2003, O'Toole was part of a cadre of crime reporters who saw their profession come under threat when faced with new legislation to punish whistle blowers. The legislation had been proposed by the then justice minister Michael McDowell. He has co-authored a book on the real IRA, and blogs here.

Noel Whelan is a practicing barrister and columnist with the Irish Times. He was an unsuccessful candidate for Fianna Fail in the Dail and Senate elections in 1997.
