I agree with NAMA in principle but am concerned that outsourcing the management of the bad debts to the SPV may be a ruse to prevent the Oireachtas from scrutinising the process. Backroom deals between developers and the SPV would be hidden from prying eyes. We must force the SPV to disclose its operations to the Oireachtas. Joe murphy wexford

This country's biggest debt is the complete lack of competency at government level. Nama sounds scarier every day. Perhaps our ministers should have their pay cut to equal the weekly dole payment of 204 euro - then they might learn the basics of economics. Deirdre.

Forget NAMA. Why not abolish single parent allowance let the father pay for his children as happens when married couples separate. Forget NAMA, we have mama where we have being bailing out single parents with handsome welfare payments. Time for all to take responsibility john
