Topic: Case studies on the experiences of people in social care

Guests: Emily Logan (Ombudsman for Children); Michael O’Regan (Irish Times), preview of tomorrow's papers

Vincent: I'm sick and tired of listening to people blaming the HSE or anyone else. Where were the aunts and uncles of your case study at the time her mother died? Why didn't they take care of her.

Social services want to know when I had concerns about my children.

***

Vincent, you have come into your own. Tonights show is so enlightening. You are so empathetic! Well done. The other side of Ireland.

***

These stories are crazy. The people you are talking to are impossible. Junkies cannot help themselves, let alone be responsible for kids. The HSE is trying its best.

***

Bleeding-heart nanny state, it's-not-my-fault-it's-society's propaganda masquerading as journalism. Stop using and having kids you can't afford, I say.

***

My brother was not in care. But sadly was abused by a religious person as a child. Life was hell, psychiatric illness resulted. Mental hospital, medication, shock treatment ... but no talking therapy.
While in hospital, died by suicide. Nobody cared.

Why didn't the aunties look after their own flesh and blood.

Health services cut for our elderly. Yet bicycle department at our Health Executive for staff grants and bikes. And a position and office filled for same employee. It says it all here how our services work.

Happy haircut.
