ESB prices are so high because the staff are said DOUBLE the national wage. Cut that, and cut numbers's, and then see prices fall.
John, Athenry

The greens mean well but they are a luxury the country cannot afford at present.
James, Donegal

stop that green spoofing about global warming lets hear real scientific comment ditto for our fiscal stability.
***
The incinerator is being built in the one place that is encouraging the importation of waste from outside the country by sea. There is a need for an incinerator but it should have been built outside the M50 so to eliminate dragging truck loads of waste into central Dublin.

The PD's aren't gone, they've just changed their name to Fianna Fail.

O'Snotty doesnt like political parties with right wing views ie parties who condemn Gardai being shot while intercepting IRA bank robbers. Remember Adare ?

Who does mr o'snodaigh think is going to pay for his protected public sector, who are the highest paid sector in our economy, cannot be dismissed, and hv their pensions protected under the croke park deal, while the private sector has no such luxury.

It started off as global warming, they could hardly call it that when we are freezing in winter so they change it climate change which can cover anything, biggest scam ever,

What is Lucinda Creighton doing on a panel discussing small political parties? Wonder is she planning to form a small political party of her own???
Dave, Mayo
***
hi sam would love to see a new political party emerge in this country called 'common sense' with a simple policy called 'back 2 basics'.. How come as a 30 something professional like myself i feel the need 2 lock my bedroom door every night in fear of rapists like larry murphy.
***
the green party = lies. They will be vapourised in the next gen election.
Ivan, Galway
***
Is china doing enough re adapting its economy to minimise its impact on climate change.
R
***
The green party has ruined Irelands freedom of fishing for eels for political means not conservation. They wont ever be in power ever again in the next election.
***
Given the quality of the political element of tonights panel I worry for the future. Typical empty rhetoric so vacuous Im surprised Sam Smyth has stayed conscious. Bring back Colm McCarthy grumpy and all as he is.
Sean, Cork
***
the greens wont get in again thats why they are trying to stay in now because they wont ever see that again
***
can the panel rember what year nigra falls froze and say it was climate change
Margaret, Sligo

just when ireland wants fine gael in government she dublin crowd , inc ms creighton, r going 2 split the party open. Sad.

Typical me the green hypocricy. Blame the energy regulator when energy prices go up and have Eamon Ryan announce them when they go down.
Pat

the green party are far from green, they are another wing of fianna fail, they are trying to stop turf cutting in special area of conservation SAC's while allowing Shell to destroy a Bay in north mayo an SAC and SPA special protected area
***
Ask the Green man if their cowardly stand down on US troops in Shannon who bomb and fly where they wish- contribute to global warming ?
***
Whats happening in the world at present is exactly as "nostradamus" predicted.
Bernie.
***
what about the positive and constructive role of ind tds and senators.the late and great tony gregory held his seat for over 25 years and made a huge contribution to irish politics.
Finian Mc Grath TD
***
The greens should be uprooted from government! Their policies are toxic weeds strangulating this country's growth!
Julie Phibbs, Roscarbery, West Cork
***
All the hot air spouted by spoofing and blustering politicans would be an ideal alternative energy source!
David Kelly, Westmeath.
***
only parties like people before profit not willing to do coalition deals with right wing parties can bring about more equility.
Kieran Mcnulty, Tralee.
***
Will the 5 Percent increase in ESB prices ensure that climate change will be reversed? And how do Green Ministers get from A to B when B is a bit far to cycle to? OR even when its not?
***
The climate isn't changing. Anyone buying that lie has been fooled. The real problem is that we're running out of oil. Climate change is the story they use to get people to use less natural energy resources. Thank God I hear more people waking up to this climate change lie.
***
its all good and well discussing green energy but our priority now in this country is to put food on the table and try and stay afloat these green guys sitting around smoking the peace pipe in wig wams need to realise where we are at financially
Sean, Galway
***
Fine Gael so seldom in power because majority of voters are donkeys.
***
when are we gonna wake up and realise that this green agenda just cant work . The rest of the world has embraced nuclear energy it is about time we do too .
***
I think that there are too many parties, we have too many supposed intelligent people who really don't have a clue of how to run this country. They need to get in tune with all walks of life within the population and ask what people need. They are not listening. They blame others and waste money on consulting that have no positive impact.
John Donovan
***
Lucinda Creighton promises on her website that she won't let the incinerator go through while fg are for it,how does that add up ?
Sean, Mayo
***
Sam's a class act. Always to the point which is great with no specific agenda.
***
Sam do you really expect meaningful and honest debate from that partisan lot? Im off to bed.
Michael, Naas
***
the green party are more interested in the planet than the people on it. They should have remembered that people pay taxes and taxes pay their wages. Carbon tax will be the new derivative market
***
two years time green party will be gone and john gormley wil join fine faill as mary harney
***
i thought the greens had ethics until the allure of power showed me otherwise.i hope they go the same way as the pds. the greens are a disgrace.
David, Cork.
