Panellists: David McWilliams, Justine McCarthy, Clare Davy, Eoin Renane, Catherine Halloran

Vincent et al, have you lost the run of yourselves? What the hell are ye doin' back tonight? Our Parliament is closed 'til the 20th! Get a grip and get with the status quo... Scabs!

A.Pleb.

Hi Vincent, Does David not realise this banking crisis is being manufactured: collapse the system in order to bring in a new system, its a worldwide conspiracy by the elites to set up their world Government with one world bank and one world currency, with them in charge, thats it, so obvious!

Alex, Kells

With all your complaints about politicians holidays I hope you enjoyed your 10 days off.

Pat, Swords

***

Halve pay to Taoiseach, ministers, TDs now. Abolish the presidency and the senate now. They are a waste of tax payers money.

John.

***

Vincent, apparently the banks lent a lot of money to the developers, to whom did the developers give all this money? Where Vincent did all this money go? Any ideas?

Paul, Cork

***

Would David agree that it is total capitalism now in this country. When things were good all the fat cats reaped the profits and now that things have crumbled we the people that never profited from any of it now have to pay for it.

***

What is Clare and the Socialist Party doing to build a new left party in Ireland? They don’t seem interested in working with other left groups.

***

I've read David McWilliams saying Anglo should go to the wall... He's absolutely correct ! If we want to remain a gombeen country...then let's believe the government. What a sick country we have become!

Martin, Crumlin.

***

Public servants want restoration of pay cuts. What about restoration of the cuts to disablement benefit\carers benefit? We are at the end of our tether.

***

Would Vincent Browne rather the nation's bank accounts go up in smoke than bail them out? We are all being bailed out.

Joe, Wexford

***

Get David McWilliams into advising the government as he is correct as usual when he asks why must the state alias the taxpayer always bail out the bond holders in these banks/insurance companies etc. They gambled & lost, live with it. I lost €40 on grand national, I don’t ask to be refunded, get over it. You pay your money and you take your chances.

John Ahearn, Westmeath.

We are all angry that the last regulator is not in jail for not doing his job. Now we won’t let the new guy do his job properly.

Roisin O Reilly.

***

If a handful of public servants in the passport office can cause so much disruption, imagine what 2OO,OOO on strike would do. They have the power to close down this country. I’m afraid this government might just push them too far.

Pat, Athy

***

Let’s all march on Dail Eireann until a general election is called, vote in a party for the people that will put Quinn and his Anglo friends where they belong.

John

***

As a public servant who has always paid her tax and pension, I and my fellow professionals are incensed by the way the workers of this state are being treated by this disreputable government. What have they done to our country to keep their cronies in the money?

Ellen O Dwyer

***

We are getting various figures as to the cost of letting Anglo fail. Those who say we have to save have a vested interest especially Anglo Dukes.

Martin, Galway

***

For decades we diverted EU structural funds to the IFSC. Money that was intended for Ireland’s poorest regions was spent on the richest two acres on the island. Yet all we have achieved is to create a banking system that is costing us money instead of making us money.

Paul, Mayo

***

Our situation is extremely gloomy as we don’t have an opposition capable of beating FF (a party littered with corruption allegations) in a GENERAL ELECTION.

Clare Daly, Swords

***

It is time we realised that we are a banana republic lead by FF monkeys that are going to destroy the country and our future for decades to come. We are and have been like the wild west and we need to be tamed once and for all.

Tony Walsh, Galway

***

Vincent, where is the money coming from to give the wealthy a grant of five thousand euros and a VRT exemption to buy an electric car? You have to be wealthy to buy a new car as you cannot get credit from our banks.

Martin, Carrick-on-Suir

***

Public sector workers are far better paid than their private sector counterparts. They have permanent jobs, fantastic pensions, retire earlier, are less productive. Public sector workers are being asked to accept small pay cuts and if they don't like it they can leave and there will be thousands of unemployed private sector workers delighted to take their place.

Kevin McLoughlin, Santry

***

When are we going to stop whinging about the arrogant and incompetent gombeens ruining our country and instead start marching on the streets?

***

Ultimately what this whole sad affair in this country shows is that capitalism, the free mark economy, light touch regulation, the invisible hand of the market and social democracy and regulation of light touch regulation have failed. They can never regulate people’s self-interest or geed. Sad world, sad country.

Cathal, Clare.
