Dathi Doolan, Sinn Fein

Dathi Doolan, Sinn Fein Candidate Dublin South East

Doolan contested the General Election in 2002, and local elections in 2004. He become involved in politics in the 1980's through the Dunnes Stores anti-apartheid strikers, then moved to London, where he worked within the Irish community on issues of concern, like housing. Moving back to Dublin, Doolan has been working against the Poolbeg incinerator since 1994, and is active in his community on issues like affordable housing, hospital waiting lists and health care. While he knows he has a tough contest ahead, he feels that developments like the Peace Process have ameliorated people's response to Sinn Fein.
