Roderic O'Gorman, Green Party, Dublin West

Introduced to politics at 10 where he joined Trevor Sargent on the 1992 campaign trail, Roderic O'Gorman promises to rectify Dublin West's undeserved low priority in Transport 21 upon election to the Dail. Specifically, a 2014 target for the electrification of the Maynooth rail line is 'ridiculous'. Roderic also believes that Ireland needs an environment minister of less seniority than Dick Roche; one who will be answerable to the next generation. As a first-time candidate in a tight three-seat constituency, Roderic doesn't overestimate his chances of election 'this time around', but believes that Dublin West will
represent a 'noticeable swing' in voter attitudes to the Green Party.
