Rejection of Postal Vote
I'm 27 and would like to vote in my home constituency of Noth Tipp. Unfortunately its with disgust, dissappointment, anger that I write to tell you that I've just been informed that my application for a postal vote has been rejected. With the election date announced on Sunday 29th of April, I searched for a method of getting my postal vote. I got my application in the post by Tuesday evening. Not a slow turnaround by any standards given busy work commitments, etc.
I cannot understand how a Thursday election suited anyone except the current government afraid of voters under the age of 30. There isn't a practical reason so I assume its a sinister one. Michael McDowell response was either completely out of touch with the youth or else lies. This sinister manouvre to disenfranchise me and my peers has alone pursuaded me to swing my vote away from the current government.
It is the hot topic of conversation with my friends in similar situations and is extremely serious, but all we hear discussed is Berties cash. Please refocus on something that is literally taking vote from us
