Paschal Donohoe, FG

Paschal Donohue, FG, Dublin Central

First time general election candidate Phibsboro resident Donohue campaigned successfully in the 2004 local elections. He believes the his consticuency needs better planning, as well as a greater focus on community policing. His creation of a development plan for his area led to his involvment in various policing forums, resulting in an increase in the number of Gardai serving in some areas, as well as encouraging local involvment in planning decisions. Donohue feels that there should be a greater focus on community guards, as at the moment, Garda who become involved in the community and build relationships are then moved, losing the local knowledge they have acquired, which could be best used in the original area. The 32 year old candidate feels that his background in private business could bring an original approach to resolving issues.
