New aesthetically pleasing buses

I wish to congratulate Dublin Bus for the recent introduction of the new Volvo Environ 4.0 buses onto Routes 1, 2 and 3 out of Ringsend Garage and onto various Routes operating out of Clontarf Garage.

Apart from the fact that these buses are very aesthetically pleasing to the eye they are much more environmentally friendly than the older buses currently in service.

Also, although they hold the same number of people as the existing buses they seem more compact.  Plus, as with all new buses purchased by Dublin Bus since 2000 they are Wheelchair/Disabled and Buggy/Pram Accessible/Friendly.

I look forward to seeing the whole of the existing Dublin Bus fleet replaced by these new Volvo Environ 4.0 buses over the next couple of years.

The one concern that I would like to raise, is that once again Routes operating out of Harristown Garage such as the 27B operating from Liberty Hall to Harristown Garage will again be left to the very last before they get any of these new buses!

Maybe it's just my perception; but it seems to me that the buses operating out of Harristown Garage are the oldest buses on the Dublin Bus network.  Again, I stand to be corrected; but it looks to me as if many of the buses that were got rid of by the other Garages were just sent to Harristown Garage to finish off their life.  Harristown Garage is urgently in need of a major delivery of these new Volvo Environ 4.0 buses as soon as possible!

In addition, the 27B is the Only Route operating into and out of Beaumont Hospital that is not Fully Wheelchair/Disabled and Buggy/Pram Accessible/Friendly.  All of the other Routes, the 42A, 51A, 103 and 104 are Fully Wheelchair/Disabled and Buggy/Pram Accessible/Friendly.
