1.6 million for parks in Dublin
Dublin City Council is investing €1.6 million in local parks over the coming year. The money will be spent to improve local parks in the South East of Dublin, specifically Ringsend Park and Herbert Park (pictured).
The investment was welcomed by Councillor Kevin Humphreys, a Labour representative. "Local parks are an important part of the community and need continued investment of both time and money for the local residents to enjoy these amenities," he said.
The children's playground in Ringsend Park will be upgraded and three tennis courts and an all-weather football pitch will be constructed. An artificial all-weather football pitch will also be constructed in Herbert Park, in partnership with St Conleth's Secondary School.
Several other parks, including Palmerston Park and Ranelagh Gardens, will also have improvement works carried out.
