Vincent, successive governments have insisted that means testing child benefit would be too expensive. This is balderdash. Every benefit is means tested. It would suggest that vested interest groups in the higher civil service are forwarding this proposition.

community employment schemes do cost money. if your husband or wife is working you can do one of these schemes and get more than full dole regardless of your spouses earnings. it should only be available to unemployed families.

I am a public sector worker with 30 yrs service i travel 25 K 2 my work 25 K home i do my work while trying 2 fill in 4 those on hols sick leave and maternity leave while bankers get bail outs pay rises and pension top ups .

More talk from you lot! Very interesting and all that BUT one of the biggest problems is the lack of criminal punishment.... There is no real point in exposing crime without and effective subsequent punishment... There is no disincentive from the next lot!
