All of my money is now gone to online banks e.g. Rabo etc. I just keep enough to run a current a/c for day to day requirements. Would advise others to do the same. Ireland is bankrupt.

I'm tired hearing about "the banks" needing capital! I own a small business that's restricted because of "the banks". What good are they? They are hungry fools with a degree of arrogance that's beyond belief. Why can't the gov just g'tee depositers up to 100k & let banks fail?

David, Newtownforbes

NAMA must be stoped. How could u value when there is no market and banks closed. Its like a man with a painting worth €1m.If someone tells him its worth €10,000 he is depressed.NAMA HAS RUINED OUR ECONOMY.

Conor O'Brien

Its time for the government to get a 50 % pay cut for the mess.

***

Why did the Govt guarantee Anglo 2 years ago. It was not of systemic importance. That decision will cost tax payers 25/30 billion! Anglo could have been allowed to go. The Govt could then have guaranteed BoI and AIB, or if necessary, nationalise them. That is the greatest scandal!

Barry, Dublin

What happened to the private enterprise capitalist system ? These banks and their backers were all private when profitable, why are they socialised when they become loss making ?

***

Anglo's losses ARE minimally €36bn. I haved proved this and presented this correct analysis to the Oireachtas and Mike Aynsley CEO of Anglo. Neither contradicted me!

Peter Mathews

The Greens might think they are being clever but they will b like the P D s after the next election non existant

***

We sold acc and icc when they were v successful. Now we are sinking good money after bad, while small businesses are closing due to lack of floating funds. Are our gov stupid. Anglo was never going to work.

I am a small business person who owes 11000 to aib in an overdraft and they have refused for 1 and a half years to put it onto a term loan to allow me repay it in a structured way . I'm paying massive interest every month ! It's a disgrace ! Billions mismanaged and even more squeezing of ordinary decent employers and taxpayers !

Henry, Longford

***

the basic adjustment that need be made for any improvement to our economy and help to work with the small business,it is essential for us to demand that a permanent manager be instated in every branch on long term contracts, nobody seems to be accountable and it continues
